Celery is among a small group of plants headed by peanuts and can provoke a severe allergic reaction. Seeds contain the highest in these allergens. In Kastanas there was an archaeological find dating back to the 9th Century.

Another Story my Great Grandpa told me about was how in Greece they used celery leaves to make a wreath and garlands for the dead.
Many times I have saved the bottom of my celery and replanted the plant to grow celery in my garden for use all summer long. It is also very easy to chop and freeze for later use.
