Jalapeno -Capsicum annuum

Jalapenos are my favorite thing to grow. At maturity, they are 5-10 cm long and have heat units of 3500-8000 depending on the strain. Only 28 calories each make great additions to dishes. Loaded with Vitamin C and Vitamin A, Calcium, Vitamin B6, and Magnesium. When you smoke a jalapeno you get the Chipotle pepper. Great for freezing. No need to blanch! You can dice them up and put them into freezer bags to use all year round. They are great for making jellies and hot sauces as well.

My favorite thing to do besides making jalapeno poppers all summer, I like to jar them and use them for my salsa to preserve for later months. What I love about growing these is I can take a pepper right out of the fridge and use the seeds to plant my next season of growing! Such an easy plant to work with. Low maintenance and yummy!
